Burrhus Frederic Skinner
Rejected Freud's notion of hidden aspects of the psych and began to focus on what could actually be observed in the outside world. He believed that the best way to understand behaviour is to look at the causes of an action and its consequences which he called operant conditioning.

All in all, I consider the development and refinement of counselling competencies as an ongoing process that lasts all the way to the end of a counsellor's professional career. Hence, counsellors are expected to increase and refine their practice knowledge and skills throughout their professional careers through self-study, review of practice outcomes, ongoing education, supervision and/or consultation as appropriate. The Master of Counselling program has provided with the theoretical and practical knowledge that I need in order to continue my professional development and growth within the field of counselling.
